If you prefer to keep your public profile, but do not want everyone to see what you posted back in high school, for example, you can also tweak your Timeline settings more generally. Click the arrow next to your Home button at the top of the screen to access the Privacy Settings. Scroll down to "Limit Viewers for Past Post," then select "Manage Visibility Post Past." Now click on "Older Post Limit" - all 2. Tell the story of your life: How to add past events Privacy, schmivacy! Perhaps, you want the whole world know the day you were born, the first time you ride a bike, and that the awards you've got a debate club in high school. This event is not listed on your Timeline, but they can. To add status updates, photos, where check-in, or a life event to your Timeline, simply hover the mouse over the line in the middle of the page until it turns into a plus sign, and reveals the option to add one of those four types of posts. Now, Facebook can accurately reflect the whole of your life - and not just the events that occur after you first signed on. 3. Add some individuality: How to customize your Timeline There are several ways you can personalize your Timeline to highlight text, images and events that you cherish most. First, you can add a cover to your Timeline. Towards the top of your profile, above the button that says "Info Update," you'll see "Add Cover." After you click, you can select an image from your photo, or choose to upload a new image. After it loads, you can adjust the position of your cover images. If you specify a cover photo and then decide it's not as great as you first thought, just hover your mouse over the image, and "Cover Changes" menu option will appear, allowing you to reposition or select a new image. For the photo album you create, you can change the main image display (you can do this before, but now the process is different). Simply click the pencil icon in the upper corner of the post album, and select "Change Photo Primer." You can also choose to highlight the post - evolved from a small post half-page size to the big screen version - by selecting the star icon at the top right corner of the post. Instead, you can click on a star post feature maximized to make it normal again. 4. Appearances matter: How to check your Timeline from different angles if you decide to make a number of posts and personal photos or hidden from your Timeline, you can still get the look, the full complete history of your actions Facebook. In the Timeline, click the "Activity Log." There you will find posts and information you need to review before publishing to your profile, and view a complete upon your interaction on Facebook. This is entirely a personal log for you. You can choose to filter what you see by clicking on the "All" dropdown menu at the top. You can choose to only see your posts, posts by others, posting of a specific Facebook application ("Hmm, let's take a look at my past achievements Farmville"), photos and more. As before, you can also check how others view your profile. In addition to the "Activity Log" is a gear icon. Click it, and you can select "View As ..." and either enter the name of a friend or click on the "public" link to see how your profile looks at the stranger. 5. You can change it to "Only Important" updates or "All updates," and you can also filter what type of post you are interested to see: things such as life events, status updates, or photos.
